The research focuses on the transformations taking place in the city of Ankara, under the pressure of forces that deconstruct the current urban structure by breaking it down into elements waiting to be combined – like the tiles in the popular game of Okey. The project is realized during the artist program “Ankara: Italian Perspectives in the capital” organized by the Embassy of Italy in Ankara in collaboration with Bilkent University and it is included in the book “Ankara along the borders: a visual examination of ongoing urban transformations” published with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture in Istanbul.

on going project
The research project concerns the interiors of ferries crossing the Mediterranean Sea and aims to reconstruct the complex identity of these devices that seem suspended in time and space: “the ship is the heterotopia par excellence” (M.Foucault Of Other Spaces: Utopias and Heterotopias).

The project reconstructs the fragmented and discontinuous identity of the contemporary Brianza territory through images in which space and architecture become the stage for episodic human presences. Project winner of the photographic competition entitled ‘Signs of/on the landscape’, organised by the Foundation of the Order of Architects Planners Landscapers and Conservators of the Province of Monza and Brianza in 2013.

The project was realised during the ‘Le nostre Mura’ artist photography residency in Castelfranco Veneto. The photographic series consists of a collection of fragments, portraits and gestures that recompose the portrait of a place – the space surrounding the walls that encircle the city – but at the same time contribute to rediscovering the inner landscape.
